About the Name

Vik: In the olden days, when Vik was barely older than a kid herself, she wanted her name to sound all grown up. "Vikki" sounded young to her, and anyway, it rhymes with "icky." So she considered Victoria - too long - and Vik - sounded like a guy. She couldn't talk her family and friends into calling her "your highness." Ultimately, she followed the advice in Strunk & White's The Elements of Style and opted for the fewest syllables. What she failed to realize was A) Vik still rhymes with "ick," and B) once she got older, she would want a younger sounding name again

Oh well, at least everyone remembers a gal named Vik.

KidCapers
We think KidCapers
sounds like our old name,
but snappier. We don't
mean capers in the
bank robbery sense.
We don't mean capers in the
sense of those things in the
sauce at French restaurants. We
mean capers in the leaping
about, cavorting and
whirilng sense.

Portraits
Vik's Sole mission at KidCapers is to create.
beautiful, custom, archival, hand-painted
black and white and sepia portraits of kids
(parents and pets are welcome when
accompanied by a child)
vik doesn't do weddings
vik doesn't do food
vik doesn't do buildings.
Just kids. All kids all the time. To create
family herilooms - not ads for toasters.
That's why KidCapers is the best around.
Just ask our clients - some of them come
from France, Singapore, Switzerland,
Australia, Africa, other far-flung places
for special Vik's KidCapers Portraits.
